History of the Vanilla

On the first day (Saturday) after breakfast, the tour departs from the hotel towards Papantla and the first stop is the Xanath ecological park, a completely self-sustainable 400 hectares of land. Among cornfields and a great history, you are welcomed with seasonal fruits of the region to taste. From the moment you arrive at the park, you are part of an experience where, not only do they tell the story of vanilla, but they make you part of it.

As part of the experience, you can taste, smell, and touch different elements of vanilla. You will also learn about the types of plants and pods that exist, and the whole process of natural pollination of the plants.

Food

After the first vanillal, the tour continues in one of the most traditional restaurants in the region. A complete experience where typical food meets a place where you can immerse yourself in Totonaca culture. You can enjoy live entertainment, handicrafts, and other experiences such as visiting the Tajin God.

Ruta de la Vainilla

Vanilla Industrialization

The third and last stop of the first day is between Papantla and Poza Rica, in a family vanilla farm where the whole family is dedicated to a part of the industrialization of vanilla. Here you can also taste fruits and visit a more industrialized and systematic vanilla farm. You will learn about artificial pollination and the process from planting and extraction to the final production of perfumes, extracts, flavoring, all of the vanilla farm’s own brand that you can buy at the end of the tour.

Here, if you wish, you can request a workshop on how to make figures with vanilla pods, pollination or cooking where you will learn about the benefits of vanilla in the kitchen.

In this vanillal they can give workshops for people who want to invest in planting vanilla, either in a small or large space. It is also visited by universities and other producers to learn more about the process.
